"Motel"

Starting with a base biped mesh I sculpted until I could sculpt no more. In that day she was born.

This 3D portriat was to be the first of a series called "Motel".  For years I've been fascinated by Americas Motel landscapes.  Perhaps my appreciation for old Motels has somethign to do with nastalgic road trips in my late teen years.  Maybe its just the collection of random people staying in close proximity.  Fleeting moments that I was especially interested in as a child.  Always someplace foreign I'd wonder what it was like to be that person, or wonder where they were from and where they were going.  Another reason I chose to design such a portrait is because I wanted to sculpt someone normal.  Someone perhaps who has dreams like all of us.  Someone who fights the good fight.  Someone who is strong in their own way, someone who is misinterpreted.  someone I would pass by as a child and think "where are they from? where are they going? are they happy, or are they sad?" Not just a foreign person I saw on T.V. someone not pretending, someone real.
